For its 8th edition, the Festival Filministes continues its commitment to showcasing cinema and art from underrepresented voices, both in front of and behind the camera. This year’s selection highlights pressing political issues, amplifying singular and collective struggles, resilient communities, and networks of solidarity that reflect the diversity of feminist perspectives. In a time of growing division, the festival stands as a space for gathering, reflection, and resistance—championing LGBTQI2SA+, racialized, Black, and Indigenous communities.
My series for the Festival Filministes 2025 uses striking visuals to explore themes of resistance and feminist solidarity through cinematic tropes.

The first poster features the carabiner, a symbol cherished in lesboqueer culture and essential on film sets, adorned with keychains representing feminism, cinema, and political activism. This image speaks to the strength of connection and the tools that hold us together.

The second poster draws inspiration from iconic action films where cars explode dramatically in desolate landscapes. Here, a protagonist sets fire to a car in the desert—a bold metaphor for burning down the patriarchy. The carabiner reappears on their belt, linking back to the first design.

In the final poster, our protagonist stands amidst the flames, wearing 3D movie glasses. The reflection captures the chaos around them, symbolizing how cinema allows us to both witness and confront the world’s upheaval. This triptych encapsulates the spirit of the festival: a space to gather, resist, and celebrate feminist filmmaking that ignites change.

Merci, Thank you !
